Galle Face Green - Colombo
Galle face is located in the heart of the city of Colombo, The Galle Face is around 12 acres’ area and around 750 meters long view for Indian ocean.
It is a wonderful place to observe an amazing sun set over western coast of Sri Lanka. The Galle Face in Sri Lanka is used for many entertaining activities such as people gathering, playing, carnivals etc. Sometime ago the main independence day functions are hosted in Galle Face. The is very familiar place for everybody, because there are many 5 star hotels are situated around the Galle Face. The Galle Face Hotel is located very close to Galle Face. The Hotel Taj Samudra, The Kingsbury, Hotel Galadari, Shangri –La, One Galle Face Mall also near by the Galle Face.
Actually the Galle Face Green is located between the Galle Road and the Indian Ocean. This area is the only biggest place opened for public to entertain in Colombo. Many people including children, vendors, teenagers, lovers, kite flyers are coming to pastimes next to the sea under the open sky.
Usually on weekends the Galle Face is filled with people and very busy. There are many street food shops and toys sellers busy with their business in weekends and evenings.
